No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health & Wellbeing, Reduce Inequalities, Gender Equality
We foster local job opportunities with a workforce of over 2,500 individuals across our diverse portfolio. Serving as a key participant in the Public Distribution System, we actively endorse initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. Our commitment extends to the global cause of achieving zero hunger, aligning with the UN's policy. Prioritizing the well-being of our staff, we provide sanitary facilities, organize health camps, and extend support to deserving cases. In our dedication to diversity, we strive to create opportunities for female staff in various roles. Additionally, we offer convenient pick and drop facilities, ensuring fair and impartial recruitment based on eligibility rather than discriminatory factors.
Quality Education
We prioritize quality education and skill development through our induction, cyclic training, and skill development programs. Additionally, we conduct visits for local schools and colleges to educate students on agricultural warehousing practices. We also provide vocational training to farmers on current farming trends, latest seeds, fertilizers, and innovative small-scale food grain storage methods.
Clean Water & Sanitization
We harvest rainwater, maintain clean water sources, provide hand sanitizers campus-wide, and ensure hygienic washroom facilities at all our locations.
Affordable & Clean Energy
We're installing solar power plants at all locations to make our energy consumption self-reliant. Our warehouses use partly transparent roof sheets to reduce electrical consumption with natural light.
Sustainable Cities & Communities
We promote sustainable living with guest houses and staff quarters at all locations, designed using a sustainable approach. This helps minimize resource waste and reduce our carbon footprint.
Climate Action
We're IGBC Accredited with solar power, rainwater harvesting, and groundwater recharge. We regulate garbage disposal, avoid refrigeration to reduce GHG emissions, and use LED lighting. Our green procurement policy guides all purchases, and we've planted 35,000+ trees to control greenhouse gas emissions.
Economic Growth
We play a crucial role in supporting the largest contributor to the country's GDP—Agricultural Output. Additionally, we store 25% of the nation's food security stock, helping control inflation and prevent economic malpractices such as hoarding. Our significant contributions to economic growth include providing substantial employment, efficient grain management, and implementing sustainable practices.
Industry Innovation & Infrastructure
We've constructed 77 Lac sq ft of eco-friendly warehouse space with solar panels. Malout's railway siding cuts transportation costs and reduces emissions. Our warehouses have advanced equipment, including CCTVs, weigh bridges, and Quality Control Labs. Dedicated lanes and parking prevent traffic issues. Our warehouses meet international standards, endorsed by the Food Ministry.
Responsible Consumption & Production
As a service provider, we control our energy consumption and promote responsible food grain preservation. We adhere to strict FCI/GOI norms for sustainability in consumables and operations, guided by our green procurement policy.
Life on Land
We safeguard terrestrial ecosystems, preventing land degradation through horticulture, lush lawns, and dense forestation. Additionally, we recharge groundwater using rainwater harvesting plants.
Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions
We promote justice and accountability through our HR and operation policies, emphasizing transparency in our organizational structure.
At Sapphire, we are in compliance with most of the United Nations Sustainability Goals.
